In exactly one week Prague fills up with collectors from all over the world. The autumn Sběratel fair takes place on 4 and 5 September 2026 at PVA EXPO Prague Letňany, with over 250 exhibitors from some 35 countries. For philatelists it is the largest event of the year in this country — and this time it falls in the same week as an exhibition of world rarities in the Municipal House.

What you will find
Sběratel has long stopped being just a stamp bourse. Roughly fifteen collecting fields meet under one roof: postage stamps, postal stationery and covers, historic postcards, coins, medals and orders, banknotes, shares and bonds, investment gold and silver, minerals, antiques, autographs, phone cards, badges and militaria. One ticket also covers the parallel Minerals fair, the Vinyl & Stereo Expo (Saturday only) and the new All Cards Arena with Pokémon and Magic trading cards.
🔍 Free valuation of your collection
This is the most useful thing at the whole fair and few visitors know about it. On both days you can have your material appraised free of charge: stamps by experts of the Union of Czech Philatelists, coins by the Czech Numismatic Society, plus the Assay Office and specialists in postcards, minerals, badges and autographs. If you have inherited a box of stamps, this is the cheapest answer you will get.

Five tips for visitors

Pick your day by the programme
Friday is two hours longer (10:00–18:00) and carries almost the whole programme — the catalogue launch, the premiere of the Pražské motivy miniature sheet, Medal of the Year, the Hall of Fame and the mass signing session from 16:30 to 18:00. Saturday is shorter (10:00–16:00) but is the only day for the All Cards Arena, Vinyl & Stereo Expo, the air mail flight and the DEN VLASTNÍ ZNÁMKY postmark. To buy first, get the CZK 1,000 dealer ticket and you are in from Thursday 16:00.

Bring a magnifier, tweezers and cash
Many smaller dealers do not take cards. A loupe is essential for checking perforation and overprints on the spot.

Carry a want list
With two hundred stands it is easy to lose focus and buy duplicates. You can keep your want list in

Ask about certificates
For items worth thousands of crowns, ask whether the piece has been expertised and by whom.

Combine it with the Municipal House
On Saturday 5 September the fair overlaps with
Treasures of World Philately III, where the world’s most valuable single stamp will be shown for the first time in this country. It is about half an hour by metro — the best philatelic Saturday of the year.
